Adhesive For Days
You guys, this adhesive just won’t quit.
I tried scrubbing it with Pears soap and a washcloth, but it’s still there. I assume that eventually it’ll wear off.
I mean, don’t take me wrong—I’m glad medical-grade adhesives work so well. But…………..
Anyway, my new Post-Surgical Pasties are, as you can see, much smaller (and Tegaderm-based). They’re still larger than is entirely necessary, but the sizes available seem to be “too big” or “too small.”
Regardless, they don’t look ridonculous under this semi-sheer tank top:
…Which is an enormous improvement. Which is good, because I think I’m stuck wearing this shirt til D gets home.
Also, if I look like I’ve slept quite badly the past few nights, it’s because I have. Now that the after-effects of my Anaesthesia Adventure have worn off, I’m starting to get a bit stir-crazy and not sleeping so very well. Can’t wait to get back into the studio so I can rest, as bizarrely contradictory as that sounds. Likewise, a little sweat would probably help with the adhesive situation.
I discovered today that I can, after a fashion, successfully load the washing machine. Now I’m going to go find out if I can unload the thing. As annoying as in-home front-loaders are (which is to say, they take foreeeevvvvvarrrrrr), I can see where one might be helpful in this context.
I think I’m going to poke BW and suggest that I come in for an extra-gentle Barre next Thursday. Today, it’s still off the table.
If I get around to decorating my current pasties (or, really, the next set, as I’m required to change them daily), of course, I’ll post the results 😉
*****VERY IMPORTANT NEWSFLASH UPDATE!!!!*****
You guys, I CAN unload the washing machine! And also the dryer, though that was more challenging, since I occasionally had to maneuver around the door to reach something way in the back.
*****FURTHER VERY IMPORTANT NEWSFLASH UPDATE!!!!*****
So it would seem that I cannot, however, get anything down from the pot rack … so if I could do this over, I’d lay in a stock of microwavable ready meals for the period between arriving home and actually being able to use my arms. Or at least leave a couple of pots and pans where I could reach them.
